OSU
MECHANICAL, INDUSTRIAL, and MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING E-BULLETIN
Vol 2. Issue #6
Week of October 23, 2006
ATTENTION ME,
IME & GE STUDENTS
Fall
Advising Sign-Ups will be available beginning this Wednesday, October 25th, in Dearborn
102. Our three-week fall advising period begins Monday, October 30th,
and runs through Wednesday, November 22nd. Be sure
to schedule a 15-minute appointment with your advisor during this time.
Why is it
so important to get advised during the Oct. 30–Nov.22 advising period? Short answer: Winter term registration starts in
mid-November. The sooner you register, the better your chances of getting into
the winter term classes of your choice. But in order to register for winter
term classes, you need your PIN. And the only way to get your winter term registration PIN is to schedule an advising appointment this fall!!
And don’t
just schedule the appointment—make sure you come to it too!! You can only sign
up for one advising session during the three-week fall advising period.
If you miss your scheduled session, you’ll have to wait until after
November 22nd to schedule another one. And that will drastically
reduce your chances of getting into the winter term classes you want.
Important
note: ADVISORS HAVE CHANGED. If you are an ME student and are not sure who your
advisor is, please check the ME Bulletin Board located outside Dearborn 102.
Industrial, Manufacturing, and General Engineering students are not assigned
advisors. This group will be advised by either Lynn Paul or Ebi
Netto. Also, if you plan to graduate anytime between Fall 2006 and Summer
2007, and have not yet met with Dr. Walker, you must do so this
term. Other graduating seniors will be assigned to Dr. Parmigiani.
If you
have any questions about fall advising, please come to Dearborn 102, which is where all ME, IME, and
General Engineering advisors are located. We look forward to seeing all of you
soon!

assessment tools can be used to engage learners, promote learning, and track
achievement of learning outcomes. Please register at http://oregonstate.edu/ctl or send an email to CTL@oregonstate.edu.
Thursday,

implications of the scoring system. Handouts will be provided on how
instructors can modify their courses and assignments to appeal to the variety
