Chris Dandenau and Yu-Hong Jeon, both MS students in Materials Science, have received
Supplemental Oregon Laurels Graduate Scholarships for 2006-07. Chris is a new
student this year working with Dr. Gibbons, and Yu-Hong, also new this year, is working with Dr. Cann. Congratulations to
both Yu-Hong and Chris!

and committees so that everyone has an idea of what is going on. We also
have a few housekeeping items and some interesting opportunities to
announce. Finally, Dr. John Sessions, one of EWB-OSU's academic advisors,
will speak about his own international work.

Career Day. 3–6:30 pm, MU Ballroom. Come learn
about nonprofit and socially responsible career options from an international
nonprofit/NGO network representative, seasoned professionals, and
representatives from local and national nonprofit organizations. Most
participating organizations are actively looking for interns, volunteers, and
employees.

therapy may allow scientists to "engineer" humans for greater health,
performance, and beauty, but how far is too far? Come learn about
and discuss the potential for new technologies concerning human health and
aptitude with OSU professor and Philosophy chair Dr. Courtney Campbell. This
event sponsored by Women and Minorities in Engineering.

presentations (laser ablation reclamation and
microchannel radiator development); a graduate student presentation on
the design, fabrication and testing of ceramic mircoreactors; a tour of

Thurs, Feb 1: Center For Teaching and Learning Workshop: Effective Use of Collaborative Learning in
the Classroom.
2–5 pm, Milam 215. This hands-on workshop provides faculty and
GTAs with the background and tools to successfully integrate collaborative
learning teams into their classes. Participants will look at the challenges
that have prevented the use of learning teams, and explore a powerful team
management model which addresses these challenges. Participants will also have
an opportunity to experience the model and reflect on its features in more
